Abstract
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to understand the characteristics related to the wearing of masks by ophthalmic optics students, and to evaluate the differences in the implementation of masks according to the general characteristics.

Methods : The responses of 113 ophthalmic optics students in Gyeonggi-do were used for the analysis. The questionnaire consisted of a total of 21 items: 4 general characteristics, 11 characteristics related to wearing a mask, and 6 items related to mask wearing. Independent t-test and one-way ANOVA were used to compare differences in mask wearing performance according to general characteristics and anxiety and depression.

Results : Most of the masks currently in use were 'KF94', and the masks they wanted to use were 'Dental'. ¡®Do not reuse¡¯ [77 people (68.1%)] was the most frequently used mask reuse frequency, and ¡®Do not disinfect¡¯ [69 people (61.1%)] the most asked whether or not to disinfect the mask when reused. Regarding the reliability of wearing a mask (the degree to which wearing a mask can prevent infection and spread of disease), ¡®trust¡¯ [76 people (67.3%)] was the most. In the question on the implementation of wearing a mask, 'I wear a mask at the hospital when I have symptoms of a disease such as a cold' had the highest score with 3.50¡¾1.03 points, and if I am married to a woman, it is necessary to protect myself from disease. For this reason, masks were better worn in public places and hospitals.

Conclusion : Among general characteristics, it was found that there was a difference in the implementation of mask wearing according to gender and marital status.
